thrown: UNWANTED and Unignorable

Twenty-one minutes. Eleven tracks. Not a second wasted. That is the whole argument of UNWANTED, the second album from Stockholm four-piece thrown, out November 6, 2026 on Arising Empire, and it is an argument the band wins fast.

The record is built the way thrown build everything: short, sharp, and heavy enough to leave a mark. Drummer and producer Buster Odeholm keeps the production surgical, and the band double down on the blend that made their name, metallic hardcore cut with nu-metal bounce, heavier breakdowns, and sharper hip-hop-inspired vocal flows. Glitch accents flicker through the mix, and the grooves land exactly where they should.

Four singles led the way here. "critic" opens the record, "rehearsed" and "split" kept the pressure up through the autumn, and the title track "unwanted" arrived last, a mission statement in under three minutes. The full sequence runs "critic", "don't be fooled", "unwanted", "rehearsed", "doing great", "type of way", "off", "split", "hard times", "bare minimum", "subpar". Eleven songs, 21:01, and the longest thrown release yet, which tells you plenty about their economy.

The people behind it are vocalist Marcus Lundqvist, guitarists Johan Liljeblad and Andreas Malm, and Odeholm on drums and production, a man better known outside the band for Humanity's Last Breath and Vildhjarta. Their 2022 debut EP EXTENDED PAIN passed 50 million streams on five tracks, and their 2024 debut album EXCESSIVE GUILT pushed them onto stages with Knocked Loose, Fit For A King, and While She Sleeps. The rise has been recognised at home too: Best Breakthrough Live Artist at the Heavy Music Awards in 2024, Best Breakthrough Album in 2025. The band now count more than 227 million Spotify streams.

That is "unwanted", the title track, and the fastest way into the record. From there, "critic" shows the band at their most direct, "split" is the groove-heavy single that got the pit moving all autumn, and "hard times" closes the back half with the record's meanest riffing.

Start here
