Deux Visages: Philly Dreamgaze Says Goodbye on the Debut LP

Deux Visages Call It Goodbye Artwork

Some debut albums arrive fully formed. Others arrive after years of false starts, label upheaval, and growing up in public. Deux Visages' Call It Goodbye is the second kind, and that is exactly what makes it worth your attention.

The Philadelphia-based trio, vocalist Daphney Hanono, guitarist Jack Chiu, and bassist Tony Jouvin, found each other through a thread of high school DMs. Word of their immersive live shows spread fast, and the band's early momentum came with the kind of major-label attention most young bands only dream about. It also came with growing pains. As Hanono puts it, their single "Automatic" is about a time when "things crashing down around us with our first record deal" left the band feeling unworthy of, and unready for, the changes around them.

That tension runs through Call It Goodbye, out November 6, 2026 via Pure Noise Records. Recorded in Miami with longtime collaborator Arquimides "Arkii" Cala, the 11-track record is a coming-of-age story about youth, new experiences, and leaving the past behind.

What they sound like is dream-pop rock with real weight behind it. The textures are hazy and dreamy, the arrangements soar, and then the guitars turn feedback-drenched and explosive. If you like the melodic haze of Alvvays, the wall of sound that bands like Nothing build, and the earnest punch of Mannequin P*ssy, a band Deux Visages have shared stages with, you will find a lot to love here. They balance vulnerability with dynamic shifts, quiet confession one moment and a full-band surge the next.

The live show is where this band built their name, and release week proves it. After recent North American runs with Sweet Pill and the Linda Lindas, Deux Visages play two record release shows: a hometown night on November 6 at Ruba Club in Philadelphia, then November 7 at Nightclub 101 in New York City.

Start here

"Always You." The euphoric first preview of the album, and the song Hanono calls the one they always wanted to write. It is about watching over someone you love from the sidelines, full of longing, uncertainty, and fear.

"Automatic." The track that names the band's early-deal growing pains outright. Watch the video and you will hear the whole record's push and pull in one song: self-doubt giving way to determination.

"Pixelate." The latest single, about people you have known for a long time becoming vague versions of who they once were. Hanono calls it a song about change and disappointment in equal measure, and it is the clearest preview yet of the album's emotional core.

Then, on November 6, sit with the full record. The title track closes the album with frustration and urgency, confronting time slipping away.
