FFO: Chillin' have one of the goofiest names in punk right now, and they know exactly what to do with it. The Concord, New Hampshire four-piece make short, loud, hook-packed songs that refuse to waste a second, and their debut LP High Horse arrives Friday, November 6, 2026 on DAZE, a label better known for heavy hardcore.

The band started in 2023 as a bedroom project and grew into a full band, releasing the Just Chillin' EP in 2024 and Infinite Grind Cheat in 2025. Signing to DAZE marked the step up, and a late-summer run opening for Joyce Manor and Glitterer put them in front of exactly the right rooms. Stereogum's reviewer saw that tour and called them a blast, which tracks with everything on record so far.

What they sound like is alt-rocky pop-punk with a slacker streak and occasional breakdowns, the kind of band that can be funny and earnest in the same 90 seconds. Fans of Joyce Manor's speed and bite, Glitterer's melodic haze, and Oso Oso's sticky hooks will find a lot to like here. The songs are built for shouting along, then they are over before you can get tired of them.

High Horse was self-produced and mixed by the band, with vocals recorded in a kitchen, drums cut at Recovery Studios in Leominster, Massachusetts, and guitars recorded by Mike Harmon in Penacook, New Hampshire, who also mastered the record.

Listen

"Fresh Start" is the latest single and the perfect entry point. It lasts just 85 seconds, packs in gnarly pull-off riffs and drums that sound like they are trying to escape the room, and still lands a hook on first listen. Stereogum slotted it at number two on its Best Songs of the Week list.

Start with "Fresh Start" for the shortest possible proof of concept, then "All I Know," the loud, hook-heavy single that marked their DAZE signing, and "Forward Perpetual Motion," a fast, giddy cut whose video is stitched together from grainy live footage. Together, the three singles sketch the whole record: hooks first, speed second, no filler.

Live, the band's next date on the books is November 29 at Blue in Portland, Maine.

FFO: Chillin' are Zaq Hollen on bass and vocals, Parker Dunlap on guitar and vocals, Matt Wilcox on guitar, and Martin Harvey-Olson on drums.
