All Hours: Brisbane Pop-Punk Goes Big on Debut LP 'Everything In Between'

Some bands spend years circling a debut album. All Hours spent years earning one. The Brisbane five-piece has been building momentum in the Australian alternative scene since forming in 2017, and on Friday, November 6, that slow build pays off with Everything In Between, their debut LP via Equal Vision Records and Velocity Records.

The road here runs through a 2020 nod from Alternative Press, which named All Hours one of ten rising Australian pop-punk bands to hear, and their 2021 EP Perspectives, which led to their signing with San Diego-based Velocity Records. Much of 2023 and 2024 went into recording the debut with producers Tom Denney (ex-A Day To Remember) and Troy Brady (ex-The Amity Affliction), two names with serious weight in the heavier end of alternative music. The result is a 10-track record the label calls energetic, emotional, and unapologetically loud.

That description holds up on the singles. All Hours play passionate pop-punk in the lineage of Paramore, A Day To Remember, Blink-182, Silverstein, and Sum 41: big choruses, driving guitars, and vocals that sound like they mean every word. Singer Dani O'Grady leads "Let Me Go," a fiery anthem about breaking free from the suffocating cloud of anxiety. "Forever Meant Nothing" turns to the bittersweet, fleeting relationships of youth, the kind of song that lands harder the second time you hear it.
